WELCOME MINISTRY

This organization welcomes new members of the Church to the parish community.

Welcome Ministry Objectives:

  • To make home visits to newly registered families, welcoming them to the St. Columbkille parish family.
  • To assist in creating opportunities for newly registered families to be involved in parish life.

    • The Welcome Ministry does not have regularly scheduled meetings. Welcome Ministry meets on an “as needed” basis.

    How we do what we do:
    Once a new family is registered with the parish, the parish office notifies the welcome ministry leader, and the names and contact information of the new family is passed on to a member of the Welcome Ministry and arrangements are made for a home visit. At the time of the visit, we share information, and answer questions about St. Columbkille parish. Also, we bring to the families, two gifts from the parish:

    1. A Welcome book with pertinent information regarding the parish,
    2. A ticket good for one free family admission to one of the following parish events: Parish Picnic, Pancake Breakfast, Spaghetti Dinner, or Lenten Fish Fry.
    The Welcome Ministry is a very rewarding ministry. It warms our heart to see so many families pleasantly surprised and truly happy to receive such a “warm welcome” from our parish.
